Grief, Gratitude and Grace

A beautiful thought for the day from Gratefulness.org. You can subscribe for free. I find it very enriching – it makes me pause and reflect for a few seconds every day.

WORD FOR THE DAY

Grief and gratitude are kindred souls, each pointing to the beauty of what is transient and given to us by grace.

  1. I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude, and was planning to write my next post about it. How hard, though, with my son gone; and I am sorry for your loss, too. It’s so damn much to carry.

    • Denise, don’t try to force yourself into a place you aren’t ready for. Trust your own grieving process. Gratitude for what you had is there in your heart and will be more readily accessed when the loss is able to be felt alongside it. That will take time. Loss overwhelms everything to begin with.
